What Don said. '98 mustangs are dog slow. 14.9 for a 5 speed is about the best they can hope for stock. Autos are mid 15's.

The '99 up 5 speeds supposedly can crack off a 13.9 stock but those are few and far between.

To run 13's with a '94-98 non cobra, your gonna have to break out a credit card.

Little bit of trivia for you. Back in the 98 era, a 3800 v6 camaro with a manual was faster then the Mustang GT.....

I ran a stock 96gt to a 14.5,so that is why I posted it.It did take alot of practise and powershifting to do though.

my friend has a 96 GT auto and ran it at the track...it has 130k miles on it and has straight pipes, shift kit, and K+N filter and that's it...ran 16.2 @ 78 mph foot to the floor the whole time...so then i ran the car myself to see if i could better him and i got a little better launch and ran a 15.9 @ 80 mph:D

i expected MUCH faster...then a volkswagon jetta ran beside me and beat me by a couple tenths and then i was convinced...
