Ok, So I had the Nash out tonite, and coming out of a turn I smacked it! The car slid around just like I knew it would, but I think I over boosted...ok...I KNOW I over boosted, and the knock guage buried  . I heard the turbo flutter, kinda like that "marble" sound. Now I know that this is NOT GOOD! so don't think I do this on a regular basis... But it has happened before, and all was well afterwards....no head gaskets, or blown turbo's.

BUT...

Tonite when it happened, I backed off IMMEDIATELY, and kinda was easy for a few minutes, but then when I got into it a lil just to see if everything was OK (about 10 psi), and I hear this weird sound under boost now...I've never heard it before
It sounded kinda like a (sounds funny)...a volkswagan beetle...almost like the puck the wastgate rod connects to in the turbo was rattling. Now it's not like the sound is REALLY loud, but it is noticeable?!? The sound is coming from I think, the drivers side of the engine compartment right it front of me. I want to say it's in the throttle body...wastgate area. but I can't be sure b/c it ONLY happens UNDER BOOST.

HELP! Who's got idea's!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

I don't know what it could be, but could you get a friend to sit in it and generate boost with you are trying to track down the noise? I know you said it does it at 10# but maybe you could hear it with the hood off better than driving down the road. You probibly thought of this already, just thought I'd try and help you.

Thanks for the reply, I did that, and STILL can't track it down...

Anyone else?!?

Another thing is that it doesn't happen when idling. Also, if I build boost in the driveway (foot on brake, and gas at the same time) IT DOESN'T DO IT!!! Only when I'm actually driving the car, and boost it. Like I said, there seems to be little or no effect on performance, just this pain in the ass rattling from the engine compartment (kind of a metalic rattle...not like something is just shaking)

HTH

Exhaust leak?

Check for a cracked header between #3 and #5. Also check and see if there are gasket between the headers and the head. If there are, they blow out easily. (Sometimes leaks are only present when the engine is really hot.)

I know this sounds stupid but my car was making a loud rattling sound and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I was cheking head gaskets and everything. It wound up being the light had rattled loose. Man did I feel stupid but it wasn't as funny as the time I broke off a bolt in the turbo changing the inlet gasket and hit my self in the head with the wrench.:D
