...and found out some things about the car. This is the first time I have run the quarter since the new turbo, chip and injectors.

Running a 21 degree chip and 38 lb. injectors, I ran a 12.23 @ 111 mph. Not shabby, especially considering the crappy conditions. Rainy that morning and VERY humid the rest of the day. I ran that time at 23 psi of boost and 46 psi of fuel. The car seemed the happiest there. On the first run I accidently moved the boost up to 26 psi, and would have been close to the 11's but I had to get out of it. Man, I was moving for about half the track. Had a 1.65 60 foot on that run also. I also noticed the car was leaning out on the top end. Those injectors are maxed out.

So with my street chip and little injectors, I'm in the 12.20's. the car has a lot more in it, but now I'm back asking myself that question. How fast is fast enough.

Next I would need alky, a hotter chip and 50 pounders. How much is that, about $1200 bucks............chickenfeed for a fireman!:D

Good show :)

Do you think you can get into the 11's with just Alchy? You may be fast enough now, huh?

Were they sufficiently impressed with your quarter mile prowess?

leeb :)

Now even though you had a good 60' your 1/8th time was probably off a half a second or so. Didn't you run a 7.5X or 7.6X earlier this year? Keep an eye on that and you'll see why I preach 1/8th et and mph.

Your already past it! 23 psi and 21 degrees of timing on pump gas alone in the heat? Thats a little dangerous. That is also the coolest part about alky, at that same boost and timing it would have been being on the safe side. More power and safer doing it, 93 octanes best buddy! Razor's kit has to be the better choice over the SMC for more than just the progressive part (bigger tank, bigger pump, progressive ect...) One of the nice things about Razors kit is its driving down the price of used SMC kits so if your on a budget you might want to watch for one. The SMC kits still work in the world of 93 octane.

I also noticed the car was leaning out on the top end. Those injectors are maxed out.

Another nice thing about alky is its fuel so its extra fueling. If you put alky on the car you may actually go from being lean to pulling fuel out of it. Plus if you do lean out on 93 octane you will want that alky in there!

As far as speed goes, I was about in the middle of the pack. There were 3 or 4 LS-1 cars that were in the 10's, and a '67 GTO in the mid 9's. Several cars in the 11's. Most of these guys knew what they were doing. THere were a couple of cars that were more show than go. One of the fastest cars there was a silver LS-1 driven by a chick! I saw her turn a 10.11! All in all it was a very fun experience. My buddy Rob came and took some pics and videos. I'll try to post them as soon as I get them.

My best 1/8 of the day was 7.70 at 89.

I was running 104 octane

Maybe I should try alky before I get the injectors. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be happy with a fast car, instead of a REAL fast car for now!

Oh yeah, I also weighed the car with their calibrated scales.

3430 empty. By empty, I mean I was not inside the car. I still had my spare tire and jack...etc. in the car.

3615 with me in it.
