From a performance stand point, the BHJ should provide better bearing/crank life. The stock balancer (actually it's only a hub and not a balancer) might cause you issues with tech guys at the track. (though, my local division tech director stated that if it doen not have an inertia ring with a sandwitched elastomer it is not considered a balancer and does not need to be SFI.) The BMS hub falls into the same catigory as the stock balancer, though it is made from steel and is much stronger. The stock balancers are known to crack. (which is also another readon to replace it with the BHJ.) An ATI balancer is considered the best balancer on the market, but would require some fabrication to make work on a EFI Buick V6. The BHJ balancers also have timing issues with the interruptor rings. Check the timing carefully.
