What should I expect to run in the 1/4 mile with the mods in my sig below? It is 100% stock except for what is listed. I will be heading to the track as soon as I get the exhaust, test pipe, and downpipe (installed Monday or Tuesday). After this, I believe the next mod should be the Walbro 340 and hotwire.

Depends on how much boost you run. I didn't see anything about upgraded injectors or turbo so I assume they are stock. With 20 lbs of boost and sticky tires you should be in the upper 12's

The turbo and injectors are stock, but will both be upgraded before the year is over. I'd love to see 12's, but the stock fuel pump is so restrictive, it's a major block in my way. I'll post my results when I go.

The stock fuel pump isn't a restriction, as a restriction is something that will slow you down. The stock fuel pump will STOP you. I would not run a car at the track that still had the stock fuel pump. Change it before you go.

The subwoofer, radar detector and tinted windows are worth .5;)

Seriously high twelves would be a good day, or if you cant launch like me low 13's with the mph for mid 12's

UNGN is right. do not run your car w/a stock pump in it. that is asking for it big time. the stock pump could barely support a stock eninge's power levels let alone a modified one's power levels. while you are doing the pump throw in a hotwire kit. gerotor (walbro) type pump's output decrease dramatically when voltage is lost. a hotwire kit will give your pump the output it requires for supporting high HP operation by wiring it directly to the alternator. this gives a full 13.5 volts at the pump vs the stock wiring which usually makes around 12 volts at the pump.

By "asking for it", do you mean the stock pump won't support these mods, or do you mean I can damage something with the stock pump? I know it's very important, so I will get one in about two weeks. Also, I forgot to mention I have a fuel guage on the way from Kirbins. You can't imagine what a pain it is to have an adj. regulator with no fuel guage.

By all means get a fuel pump, especially with that Pit Bull chip.

What do you know about this chip? I can't wait to get rid of it, but I wanna change it after I get new injectors.

No expert at all here-but i gaurantee you the tech gurus would be doing backflips with the thought of you running the car with:::::AFPR,pitbull chip,no FP gauge, and the stock fuel pump.

I can hear them all now-------BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck

i mean both. the pump wont support the factory power levels and b/c of this it wont supply the needed fuel. what if you ran out of fuel at 15 psi at 5200 rpm and leaned out? ouch is right. youd at least blow a head gasket if not the whole motor IMO:eek: also you should at least borrow a FP guage to set the FP if you can get one. i remember my stock pump only put out 27 psi of pressure!!! imagine what increased pressure on an already crappy pump could do to it. its a good thing you are getting a new pump soon. if you can, get a hotwire kit. its only about $50 from most vendors. racetronix currently has a pump/hotwire kit special running now. its the same one i got and it works very well:D here is the link http://www.racetronix.com/Racetronix-Buick_Single_Fuel_Pump_Kit.html

HTH:cool:

What exactly is so bad about the Pitbull chip with my combo? That chip has been in my car for about a year or more. Do you guys think I should stick the stock chip in again for now?

wow you guys are hard on a wallet....

stock pump is fine till you start going lean..

you have scanmaster so just keep an eye on 02's thru high gear and if they start to fall below 780 range then get out of it..

i know a few cars that have run high 12's on a stock pump and no hotwire kit.

when mine was hotair i was running 13.0's at 105 with stock pump no hotwire and had plenty of fuel.

I'd bet nobody on here has actually seen how far they could go with it but instead just listen to all the others say how crappy they are.

when you step up on injecters then definatly go up on pump too

btw i have some brand new from cottons 36# injecters and street chip to go with them if interested.
injecters were $275 and chip was $75
buy the injecters and i'll give you the chip and i'll cover shipping.:)

Stock pumps are like PTE51's. Some people never have a problem with them, while others....

My car would not run faster than mid 14's when I bought it (from the original owner). When the boost went over 14 psi, WAAAaaaaa - it just shut off. I just stopped trying and went home. Changed the fuel pump to a 307 and ran low 12's before I hot wired it.

I remember when lots of people ran fast with the stock fuel pumps 10 years ago when they were relatively new. The fuel pump is 15 years old now. TurboTer can go to the track and run it like it is, but the odd's are pretty good he'll just come home frustrated.

Check your e-mail on the injectors. :)

The Pit Bull chip is very aggressive in the timing dept. for a street chip. Most street chips are in the 18-19º range for timing, anything higher than that for a street chip is considered too high. High timing can = detonation without the proper octane fuel or alcohol injection or enough fuel and that's where the new fuel pump comes in. It's well known that the stock pump and wiring was barely good enough for the stock set up, much less a car with some mods to it.

I don't see where you said what gas you will be running. It better be race gas if you are turning up the boost with the Pit Bull. I am pretty certain that chip has low 20s timing.

I always use 93 or 94 in the year or so that the Pitbiull has been in. I'm thinking of putting in the stocker tonight and seeing how it goes.
