i have an 87 gn that needs new rockers and was wondering wheres the best place to get them and are gm rockers still available?? and around how much can i expect to pay a shop to install without painting them? thanks nick
I bought a set from Poston for a GN I got rid of a while back. They were about 60-80 for the set and didn't fit so good.
Of course I'm not great at body repair, so that's just my $.02.
Your best bet for a good fit and finish is to find a wrecked regal or GN and take what you need. I will be doing mine hopefully this summer, found a totaled GN with low mileage and we cut the whole floor section out with the rockers attached still. I have heard the after market ones need lots of work to make them fit right. Nothing can replace factory GM parts As far as cost goes the poston ones are under 200.00 for the pair but how much is the bodyshop gonna charge to make them fit? Thats unpredictable till they do them and find out how many hours it really takes.
Original GM rockers are obsolete, unless you hit the lotto and find someone who has a set for sale.
