i am going to be painting my GN relatively soon and i thought now would be a good time to start thinking what color to paint it. the color is black of course, but which black is the question. im not sure if i want to do something different (maybe a little pearl or something?) or just straight black. which blacks are your favorite? thanks.

My .02 would be to use a base/clear system of the factory color and spend the money for a quality paint job. I personally would avoid shops that primarily do collision work. Most people will admit that nothing looks better on a musclecar than a nicely done black paint job.

A nicely done paint job in the factory color will have an impressive depth to it, which should satisfy you. Lots of wet sanding between coats seems to be the key.

To me paining a GN any color or even a variation is sacreligious and I think down the road you might regret it.

Good luck.

black is definitely the color. however, i feel that there are better, deeper blacks available than the factory color. but all opinions are welcome.

BMW "jet black" (I think) is probably the deepest shade I've seen. Just look at any beemer newer than 2000. Our if you want to go really custom look at something from house of kolors.www.eastwood.com (?)

A little pearl would look pretty nice. It would give the car a little edge over plain black.

acura has some pretty good looking pearly blacks that i was thinking about. but ill probably just end up with just straight black. i doubt it will be the factory color though.

Actually when it comes to black, black is black. :) That is unless you start adding any pearls into it.
