What could cause this

Here is the problem. My brakes have suddenly gone super soft and bottom out. I noticed that there is somthing wrong when alot of break fluid is coming out of the fluid resivour lid everytime you pump the breaks also you can here air or somthing coming out from the same place as were its leaking. The resivour if i am correct should not be getting pressurized is this right. Could the slave cylinder have gone bad and be leaking by now causing some pressure to go to the breaks making them be super soft and then bottoming out and the rest of the pressure bleading back throught the cylinder into the resivour. the resone i ask is that you can see the fliud jumping around in there when you pump the brakes.....i am at a loss .......could use some help on this one....was working great one minute and then @#%! all of a sudden .....thanks

Yes it does sound like the master cylinder has gone bad. There is a kit (don't have p/n) for rebuilding it.

Hank Terry is often recommended when powermasters are being discussed. Of course you first want to be sure yours really needs replacing. The page I pasted above (first reply) has a good troubleshooting procedure.
