Just bought a new set of drag lites and was wondering what I should torque them down to, and also was wondering if I need to run spacers with them. Using 15x3.5 with 165's and 15x8's with 28x9's.

Click, click, click............................. I crank em pretty tight. By hand, carefully. Over 100#

So 80-85 ft/lbs? or what?? I know from torquing things in the past that 85 ft/lbs is a pretty tight fit on anything. Does it need to go more??

Weld says 80 ft lbs but i guess it would also depend if you have thicker studs-then it would be alittle more. Not using the proper torque can warp the rims. i just recently went to the pro stars xps with a solid billet center which i dont think the torque would effect as much.If not properely torqued weld will not honor the warranty.

Guys, I've tried all the torques. Have you ever heard the draglites click? The only way I got em to stop was to forget the torque and tighten em tighter. I'm guessing about 120# or so. With a pretty big torque wrench, it's not so tight anything is ready to break or warp. Works on my car well.

Russ- have you calibrated your torque wrench lately? that seems very high.

The 7/16" or 12mm studs should only go to 75 lbs/ft. These "sandwich" type wheels (with the inner core) should be retorqued several times after drive-cycling.

He didn't say he HAD to re-torque them. I bet he does it just to be on the safe side in case they MIGHT need it. Good idea. I'm gonna' re-torque mine right now!

This is WAY over what Weld recommends. I had several of my mounting holes get out of round and after a phone call to Weld tech found that this is not an uncommon problem when the lugs are over-torqued.

I'd stick to their recommended torque.
