I'm writing a small paper for physics and was wondering if someone out in California could let me know what it cost them for electricity per Kilowatt Hour.

Thanks for any help you can give me. Please also let me know where in California you are.

Thanks,

John

255Kwh baseline is $.11589
above that
101-130% of baseline $.13321
and for some reason 130%+ is the same rate?

This is in San Francisco, CA. PG&E (Pacific Gas and Elec) sucks and they charge too much. 1/3 of my bill is just for the transmission and distribution of electricity!

Here's a So Cal summary for ya. Irvine is supplied by Sothern Calif. Edison:

Baseline KWH = 133kwh @ $0.11808
Over Baseline 1% - 30% = $0.13741 per kwh
Over Baseline 31% - 100% = $0.15368 per kwh
Over Baseline 101% - 200% = $0.17126 per kwh

The billing for the period of 08/19/03 to 09/17/03 on a 1400 sqft condo brokedown as this:

DWR Generation $13.05
SCE Generation 40.44
Procured Energy 43.26
DWR Bond Charge 4.37
Transmission charges 3.50
Distribution charges 16.73
Nuclear Decommissioning
Charges --------- .65
Public Purpose Program
Charges --------------- 3.56
Trust Transfer Amount 9.98
Taxes and Other .47
====
Total $ 136.01

Isn't this lovely? It will take physics to understand all this.
We in California continue to take it firmly in the arse!
