i didnt know if this was more suitable here on in the other room, but i was just curious what it take to get the front tires of a turbo regal to lift off the ground. Is there a certain HP that would be needed to do this or what, thisis not my goal, my goal is to run 11's, i just always thought it would be a cool thing to say as far as bragging rights.

thanks for any responses,
Joshua

I've wondered the same thing...someone around here must know!
I'd like to see a Civic do that!

i know we have people here that have there front tires lift off the ground, at what point in your mods did you notice it?

From what I have seen around a 1.5 sixty foot time power brakeing the car will lift the drivers tire. Usually to get a 1.5 a car will run mid 11's or faster. With a tranny brake you could probable lift both tires at this HP level.

All it takes is $$$$$$$$ :)

Good Luck

Horsepower/Torque
Traction
Stall

How much??
Each car is different. I've done it with a 1.6 60', a pair of 255/50 Drag Radials, and a low 12 second run. It wasn't a very high lift though, and it may have only been one tire, but it's a start.

Wheelies are about storing energy, and being able to quickly/effectively release it, while maintaining traction (in the GN world).

So while a heavy converter might be good for storing energy the trade off is it's inertia, and that effects the ability to release the energy it has stored, and then acclerate.

Not to mention that in some cases they waste alot of energy that could be better used in pushing the car down the track. But, it's often easier to find some time in the 60', rather then making it up with HP in high gear.

5,000 pounds in the trunk.

Actually, some pretty weak cars are able to lift the fronts, so power is only part of the story. Use the wrong tires, springs, shocks, bars, etc. and you'll lift the fronts on a 14 second car.
