What does the AC in AC Delco stand for?

I may be wrong but I think the hood scoop/ram air was actually functional in the SLP firehawks, it does not look like the air box on that firechicken is set up for that, I am not sure though.

The hood scoops are functional. It sucks air in from just under where the clips go on the airbox.
