I am getting no voltage to the blue wire at the throttle position sensor what could be causing this I checked c13 at the computer and there is no voltage there also when it says that there should be .43 volts ign on my car will not start now and it was missing before it stopped so could there be something else that tells the comptur to send voltage please advise someone

Check the orange wire coming from the battery, pos. terminal, there is a plug connection there. Also that wire has a fuse in it, look for power from that connection to the neg. terminal of the battery. Thats C-16 coming from the battery to the ECM.

thanks tarey but i think that I'm getting voltage from there a because the check engine light is on and i do't think that it comes on if it is not getting volts but I'll check to make sure does anything else come to mind I'm working on it and checking my response on here at the same time

Yes you are right, I just tried that with my car, and the check eng. lite won't come on with no power to the ECM. Now you got me thinkin,I got the schematic out and lookin. Did you try unpluging and pluging the connections on the ECM. Just a thouhgt??? I'll keep thinkin, if I come up with anything I'll get back to you, Tarey

I'm lookin at the schematic, and there isn't anything between the TPS and the ECM but the plug at the TPS. Do you have some body you know with another TR you could swap ECM's with. Thats all I can think of??? Tarey.

I've already swapped out an ecm and same results, I'm usually pretty good at finding problems and solving them but this one makes no since at all

C13 says Throttle Position Input. The voltage doesn't originate there. C14, the gray wire, says TPS 5V Reference. This is where the voltage is originating. Unplug the connector and check the voltage on the gray wire. Apparently you don't have a connection inside the TPS between the gray and blue wire. I'd look for ground problems first starting at the black wire and B12, ensuring it has continuity to ground. Then look for the missing ground at the manifold temp sensor and the coolant sensor most likely. Worst case, the TPS has gone south. A little dielectric grease on the connector can work wonders; saved me Saturday on my cooling fan that decided to stop coming on.

The check engine light does *****not***** mean that you have power to the ECM. The check engine light has its own power module. The light will come on solid with the key on when there is no power to the ECM. The usual cause is a blown ECM fuse.
