Hi All , After getting stuck today with the GN I somewhat figured out my low fuel pressure problem under Boost ,I still have testing to do tommorow but am almost certrain it's the pump !! Upon priming the key it only builds 20lbs of pressure and will not start at all----- Anyhow here's my Question I have a walbro 307 a little over a year old #8 AN supply hose and #6 AN return hose feeding 50lbr's with a TE44 on it for NOW , I need help in figuring out what pump will keep up the pressure ALONG with the volume needed for my bigger lines which I beleive caused my premature failure of my 307. Should I go double pumper? Should I go paxton external? if so what in tank mods do I have to do? I hear so many people making high HP with A 307 but this is the 2nd pump I've put in I want to make the right choice and not have to worry about it again sorry for rambling thanks All -Benny

FWIW I run an Aeromotive external (Red one) with an -8 feed line and stock return lines and havent had any problems. I ran the double pumper a couple years ago and it did not work well in my car, I know guys have run em into the 9's but I wasn't so lucky. I put the -8 line and Aeromotive pump and haven't had a problem since.

what exactly did you do with the intank unit? Do you just connect a straight hose and bypass where the intank pump would go? How much was the pump? or the part#? sorry for all the ?'s but I need do to this within the next 2 days-Thanks
 
I must be missing something. A Walbro 307, and the stock fuel lines, are (should be) more than adequate for a TE44 and 50lb injectors. There must be another problem. More pump, and bigger lines, may be useful at some higher performance level, but I think Jack Cotton got well into the 10s with a single pump (307, 340? somebody help me out, please) and stock fuel lines. Seems to me it would be more effective to find the cause of the problem than to just cover it up with more pump.
 
I can't see how having the -8 and -6 lines would affect the life of your pump. I'd chalk it up to coincidence and just get another 307 or a 340.

I have AN8 on my car , not because i felt it needed that but it was easier to run and if i should wreck this car a long piece of AN 8 is more usefull than a GN fuel line , anyway i have an intank 307 and it works ok but i dont run boost over 20 on it , mostly 15 psi but its worked good so far and ive had it in for over 2 years , however on my other side off the fuel system( trunk cell with race gas) i have a paxton pump that ive run up to 27psi , its overkill for my car though , ive run the paxton too in the past as the main pump with the stock tank and a pick up i made and it worked ok , but that isnt the ideal set up for the inline it puts more wear on the pump when you start up and it has to pull a header of fuel to the pump . A sumped set up for that is more ideal.
 
307 vs 340

There is more difference between these two pumps than just pressure. The 340 has a more efficient motor, so it draws less current. If I was buying a new pump, I would go straight for the 340, and skip the 307. There is data available on both pumps, and this has been discussed before, one of the vendors who posts here sells both.
 
I have ATR's staged double pumper system with dual 340's and -10 supply and return lines. I have had no problems at all except some excessive ticking from one of the fuel rails on the manifold (CAS Sheetmetal intake). I think it was probably coincidence that your pump went when it did.
