i going to purchase a set of headers for my 84 ttype that is slowly coming back together. i am considering buying the set of headers offered by poston, but am reluctant b/c their might be a better set on the market.any input on the fitment, cost, durability, and performance of the poston headers and of other set on the market would be greatly appreciated in making a decision on my purchase.

thanks.

I'm an ATR fan myself.

There headerare made of T304 Stainless Steel and are a perfect fit. I bought the entire kit - headers, x-over pipe, up-pipe and downpipe.

The entire kit is a lil pricey (895.00) but if your gonna do it...might as well do it right. I was restoring the entire car and the original pieces are junk (cracked etc).

My buddy just got a set of Lee Thompson headers which look great. I don't know if Lee makes these any more or not, though.

lee doesn't make headers any more,so you're left with atr or postons.i've heard good things about both.

later,sean

I would save som $$$ and not buy a complete set. The DS header and crossover are the same as the 86/87 and the general feeling is the are very good. The passenger side header and downpipe are worth replacing IMO. I wish I knew more about the up-pipe, but nobody ever has tried the stocker vs aftermarket up-pipe only (it's always changed along with other pipes).

Actually I'm going backwards to cast iron manifolds off a '80 TR. Same ID's, better heat retention and won't crack. Better/Worse? I don't know, but they are cheap. :)

I have the atr up pipe and the cat back. I am very happy with there quality. I plan on buying the headers and crossover this year to complete it.

my friends atr headers on his 87 have cracked about 3 or 4 times. they have fixed them but its not like they are easy to take off... but im convinced that if they are jet hot coated they wont crack or give u any problems... i should get my dp from lee thompson any day now im going to have it coated along with all the atr parts when i buy them. cant beat stainless:D
