What function do each of the three knobs control? What change is made when turning each of them CW or CCW? Thanks.

Hey Jim,

The "turn on" knob is the boost level that the system starts spraying, should be set to 12 o'clock.

"Initial" is the starting volume of alky injected at the "turn on" point above, should be 11:30 position.

The blue "gain" knob controls the slope that the alky ramps in as boost rises. I think Julio wants you to set it on 6 and adjust boost and fuel around those alky settings. If it knocks turn up the gain.

Above based on straight methanol.

Have you been to the track with the xfi setup yet?

Mike

Thanks Mike.

I was at the track last night and the best I could run was 7.077 @ 99.49 at 24# boost and 22/20 timing. The other four runs went all the way to 7.47 with 25# boost and 24/20 timing. All mph's were 99. The best 60' was 1.694 so that was a problem. I need more track time with the XFI so I hope to go back tomorrow night for test and tune. I am running worse with the XFI than I was with the Gen II and Power Logger.

The car went real rich (8.8 AFR) when the alcohol reached max flow at 13# so I
had to keep leaning it out in that area.

Mike: The instructions that came with my kit show the TurnOn setting is about 10 oclock for GM 3 bar application. Please double check your information because you may have the solution why mine doesn't 60' worth a hoot.

Thanks.

Dang you're right, sorry about that I'll go back an fix my post.

Your 60ft issue sounds like a purple wire application is needed. I have mine wired to a momentary switch on the ash tray switch plate.

Mike

Sounds like you need to tune in your fast

Leave the controls alone, set blue gain on position 6/7 and tune in your VE table

Razor--You are correct about me needing tuning time with the XFI. I had a friend show up late at the track last night and he made some tuning changes to the run I made before he arrived. He drove the car for a run on the new tune but unfortunately he pushed through the lights while staging, got a red light and no time slip. I am positive that the run was in the 6's at more than 100 mph. Reason I say this is the car in the other lane ran 6.249 @ 110.91 and my car stayed with him until the very end of the 1/8 mile.

Unfortunately, that was the end of my evening because the turbo started blowing blue smoke on the return lane after that run. I have had that TE-61 since 2004, so I can't complain. I am considering upgrading to a 6262.

Sounds like you need to spend some time tweaking on the tune-up. Just datalog it and then look at the log. It will tell you what it needs. ;)

Rome wasnt built in one day.. and this stuff does take it time to get squared away. One step at a time.
