I have an electrical connection coming off of the block on the drivers side below the middle header. Is this possibly for something aftermarket? I have a loose wire under the dash and can't figure out what it goes to. Thanks!

Maybe an aftermarket water temp sensor screwed into the block where the the drain plug would normally go?
