What Is The Wire?

I had my motor out for rebuild for the past 5 months and i have this one pesky wire I can't figure? It's coming out firewall behind/lower of the brake booster. It looks to be purple or maybe red? In pictures below:

If it's orange with a black stripe it's the hood lamp power.
It should have power on it at all times which may be why it's taped up.

Its coming out from behind the OE firewall plug suggesting its not a factory wire.
Time for a deep dive under the dash.
