Iam looking for the best street/track proven L/U converter and stall speed for my 87 GN. Its mostly street driven but sometimes ran at the track. The mods are located in my signature. Thanks for any and all help

Stock convertor works fine. To be safe go with 60# injector too. If stock appearing turbo in not important IMO go with a TE60 its rated for 50 more HP and spools nice with a stock convertor.

I Already have the bought the TA49 and Iam going to install the Alky control on the 87 GN instead of the 86 T Type.

I want a (stall speed) convertor that will break the tires loose at 35 mph!!!

Mmmm ok. My stock T broke the tires loose at 35 mph...that was with stock tire size, 20 psi, stock convertor and TA49. IMO - put the new turbo on and install the alky kit and go from there. At 20+ psi you might be happy.

I have the Precision Vigilante O-Pump with the TA-49. Stalls around 2800-3000. Spools very fast. A stock converter should give you similiar results. IMO stick with the stocker until its necessary to upgrade. I only did cause my D5 blew apart. HTH Deren

With that cam and a TA-49 turbo I would go with a minimum of a 26-2800 stall converter. JMHO :)

i could break the tires loose @ 35 with stock turbo and stock converter stock injectors duttneck ic
then i had stock turbo with 3200 and still would do it

What does breaking the tires loose at 35mph have to do with performance gains? The 212-212 and stock converter combo is a bad one. A 2800 9.5" would work ok with it. I would have went with a smaller cam unless you are planning on heads very soon.

Ok Bison...a 2800 9.5 L/U unit-what brand would you suggest Bro.?

just trowing it out there i have a 10 inch westcoast converter seems to work very well and a decent price it was 485 to my door. if i were to get a different one i think i would go with a pts unit

I am running a 3k lockup 9x11 on mine with the PT51 which is a similar sized turbo. Mine will completely blow the Mickey Thompson ET Radials off for a block if I want it to...without the nitrous

Save the $$$$ for now. You should be able to run 25 psi on pump gas and alky. Should have zero issues breaking the tires loose. Also consider this too.

Thanks Vacuum 6 bought one from Gbodyparts about 6 months to put on when I installed the Razor's alky kit.
