What is the fastest anyone has ran on pumped gas? Can you get into the 10s on pumped gas?

Thanks,
Jason

It has been done by a few guys with Alcohol injection and I think there are some in the 10's on pump without alky, but then again I could be wrong cause I don't think most guys are willing to build a nice motor and run it hard on sh!tty pump gas.... If you want to go 10's on pump gas go buy an LS1 F-body, a 5.0 Mustang, or some kind of V8 powered car! Just my $.02

I bet greg krings stage 2 can run mid 10's on 93 pump gas and ET streets. Of course it runs lows 9s on race gas.

For any normal (ie. non stage motor) GN, etc., 11s on pump gas without alky is pretty good,, 10s is pushing it.

I just don't understand the logic of some guys when it comes to this topic.... You spend a lot of money to build a nice motor and then you limit its performance by using low octane pump gas:confused: Maybe I'm the only guy that doesn't mind spending $7.00 a gallon for VP C-16 race gas to make my car haul ass and not have to worry about blowing a headgasket or even worse damaging the motor.... When I have pump gas in the car and I'm driving on the street I know that my car won't perform as well as it will with the better gas and more boost and it's as simple as that! This no longer concerns me though cause now we have a pretty strict street racing law down here and it's just not worth it!!!! When I go to the track (and it hasn't been very often lately) I usually put race gas in the tank and turn up the boost or if I want to have a little fun, but don't have the money for the "good" gas I run the car on lower boost and it runs whatever it runs and I'm happy! Just my take on this topic of pump gas and race gas in relation to our cars:cool:

brick, im with ya there on the racing law. its just not worth it. to many undercover cops out there. i know my car wouldnt be as fast on alky as it would on racegas but my current monetary status doesnt allow me to spend $7 a gallon on racegas and O2 sensors and money to get back and forth from bradenton. i do like my car to be as quick as possible on the road though. when they start selling gas over 93 octane i will buy it but until then its pump and alky for me;)

like others have said....a lot of places dont have race gas readily available or even 94 octane for that matter. i pay 7.43 a gallon for c-16 and i street race every saturday night and that about 70-100 bucks a week just for gas! o2 sensors get exspensive( i have ME) too. i personally hate racing on pump gas as most street cars in my area run low 12's or better and spray quite often. i usually try to pick on slower cars in street trim as i tend to loose more races in street trim. it sucks loosing, knowing yourself your car is a full second or more quicker if you were prepared. then all your friends think your car is a pooch all because you didnt want to pay for race gas.

Uh, would you believe I like the feel of accelerating hard once in a while even when I'm not at the track or running race gas? Don't have to be a street racer to go out for a blast and put a grin on your face. If 13 sec. does it for you, great! Wouldn't knock it if someone else likes the feel of an 11 sec. push.

So what can you expect to run on 93 octane and all the normal mods? Approx?

I pumped my 116 right into the tank,,,so is that pumped gas;)

a TR at stock boost levels on pump gas could prolly go 13's, maybe low 13's with traction.....a highly modified and properly "chipped" for low octane TR could go much faster

a TR at any level of mods will go faster on higher octane fuel than a car running pump gas (assuming proper tuning).......period
