I was looking at my 87 the other day, when I dropped a 1/2 inch socket down in the hole in the core support (oops). The open space between the grill and radiator has been filled with black abs plastic material, somewhat flexible, similar to a truck mud-flap. I'm wanting to add this material to my 86 to improve the cooling and keep the front end from floating around so much at speed.

Any suggestions where to get a black plastic material suitable for this? I was also considering using plexiglass, but mounting it would be easier if it were more flexible- just punch holes and go.

I thought I saw a kit somplace for doing that .But im sure it could be done with a mud flap alot cheaper something im going to look into .

Some tool boxes have a foam like material that's cut out for placement of the tools. It's easily shaped. Might try that. :)

Robbie, you got any links to pics of that DRM T? My 86 is DRM but the clear is bad on the top surfaces.

Maybe I can find a city bus at a salvage yard- I think the large air dam off of one of those would work, cut into pieces.

I just thought maybe there was a "aisle 12 at Lowe's" solution...

Let me try to see if I can get aholt of some. I'll send it if I get it. I have pics coming. Before and after I used a 'special' cleaner/sealant. Keep in touch. :D

Just go to your local auto or truck parts store and buy some thick mudflaps. Trim to fit. end of problem.
