Got an 85 base Regal with nice grey interior and a good running v6 carbed motor and good shifting tranny. I will probably sell off some of the parts and keep some things for backup. The only thing I won't need are the seats (they're real nice) but I am not sure if the motor or tranny parts are worthwile to keep for spares for my 86 GN. Are the gear ratios in the tranny the same? The car only had 14" tires on it. The heads could be good, right? Anything else I should keep (or offer for sale) from this car. The interior is all grey just like the GN.

Look for aluminum bumper supports, front & rear.

Vacume brake set up with the brake pedal

Rear suspenion upper & lower cotrol arms, they can be boxed!

Interior parts

Look for aluminum radiator support

Body parts, fenders, doors, front nose piece, glass, ect.

List goes on & on.

The tranny isn't an OD (right?), so it's probably not worth much.

The heads are good ('8445 casting), but very common.

The block is good, but probably won't the be the covetted '109 casting.

I can't see a whole lot of stuff making it worthwile to part it out if it's not junk. Whatever you can get off it, you can get from any junkyard for peanuts. Not many parts made of gold on a NA Regal.

85

I/ll take the oil pan if in GOOD condition
Front timing cover is the same---rods---heads
Flex plate is different
It will NOT have an alluminum core support
