Hey Kevin thanks for welcoming me to the board. Wade's car was definitely running well. I did run a 7.84 on that TNT in Memphis, then ran a 7.96 in the semi's. I had a lifter going away and heard it on the return road, but they ran us again immediately. I took a shot and lost. That lifter broke after the 1/8th and destroyed the engine. The heads and block were the only parts salvaged. I had the wrong gear in the car at memphis and was having to turn the engine 9500. The lifters were old. Guess that is how it goes.

I loved that car, but I really want to avoid having that level of car again. Maybe 5 years from now, but not right now.

So, in your opinion if I wanted to run 10's, running the 6 would be the most cost effective route?

I am going to read through the links that you included in your post. Thanks for those.

So have you aquired parts for your LS1 combo? The L92 heads are killer for the money. The camaro that I talked about in an earlier post made 670 @6800 but was making over 400rwhp @3000. I actually had the option to buy the car today for $16,500 but I passed. It is worth it, but I don't really want a camaro.

Gn Clone

Do what you want to do alot guys here are going to LSX SBC. But if you were to keep it in the Buick Torque Family a 70- 71 455 stge motor would be nice especially if you did some kind of Forced Induction.(TwinTurbo 6131's) on a low compression big block Buick , make it a pump gas torque monster with a lil alky and build a tricked out Turbo 400 to back it up. If you find a 1970 donor GS/Skylark it will probably have that tranny with it.

As long as you wanted to run 10s, the V6 would be great for that. The driveability is very good. Fuel economy is good, etc. There are even a few Stage II cars for sale that may meet your needs...be a good daily driver and run in the 9s. Look to pay $20-$25K for something like that. Keep in mind that the Stage II parts are getting more difficult to find. They would be some fun drivers.

If you are going to build your car, it's hard to go wrong with an LS engine and a turbo (or two). The parts are plentiful and as you said...the L92 heads are awesome and inexpensive too!

Good Luck.
