I had the same one, it was a older PTE. I may be wrong, but that is what mine was.

Yes I ran the power plate with this set-up and it worked great. I know some like them, some do not like them. We have them on all our TR'S down here with great results, real results. I think Jason does a great job and he makes the plates for these.

Yes funny you should ask Scott, It rained all dam weekend here in smelly NJ. So I woke up had coffee and looked at the engine and said yup today you are coming apart.

I took the Turbo housing, all the intercooler pipes, the maff pipe and the down-pipe. I spent a few hours on the phone and talking to various different coaters from CA to VA.

Here is the deal, Swain and Jet hot go to 2400, however they only have black and a ugly silver. I wanted the polished look on everything so it matched.

I found a great place to deal with http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/
They have polished aluminum that will go up to 2000 and has seemed to have held up on some Turbo cars. He is one of the few that adds a few extra processes.

I will post pictures when reinstalled, he said 2 weeks. So I guess I will be the Ginnie pig for the Buick Community. If you hit search under coating many have beaten this to death, and it seems lots of guys still kinda waiting. Sorry for the long post:eek:

Interesting...I'll post some pics of mine as soon as I put it back the doghouse and throttle body on it

My KenneBell, looks just like that one. Is that a 3" TH on it?. If so, then it's a dead ringer for what mine looks like.

Hey Bruce...It is a 3" throttle body if that is what you meant instead of TH. I figured it for a KenneBell. The guy I bought it from said it was a Hemco. I knew better...Not bad for 150 bux huh?

Doesnt appear tall enough to be a PTE, prolly a KB or Accufab. But the pic may be deceiving.

Take a pic of it fliped upside down.PTE should have ribs??I know the newer ones do.

Scott,if you need any polishing done,I gotta guy who does it CHEAP.Whole 4" MAF pipe,IC piping and IC(new Precison) for $250.

I had a older style PTE with no ribs, regardless good deal for $150.00 wanna sell it Scott. :D

Ya, TB, not TH

150?, I'll give you that for it any time.... :)

Drew, that is a sweet deal on all that polishing. Is he local?

The doghouse is not as tall as a newer PTE unit. I held it beside the one we used to have on the Malibuick and mine is shorter. The underside has no ribs in it. I took a picture of the bottom side of it but I left it at my office along with my camera. Will post a pic tomorrow. Scott

Here is what the bottom looks like
