How many Hot Air fanatics use gapless rings with great success in a hot air and what do you feel is the secret?

1. Are you having breather spitting / discharge issues with these?
2. PCV hooked up?
3. Boost pressure greater then 15 PSI
4. Rebuild motor?
5. HV oil pump?
6. Gapless rings?

Really should not matter if HA or IC, but wanted to be DANG sure!

Discussion:confused:

I run gapless, I believe on the second ring. I run breathers with no PCV. No oil issues do far. I notice the oil stays clean much, much longer than before. There's no noticable oil consumption. I changed a bunch of things on the new motor so I can't say how much of an effect the rings have but throttle response is much improved now and the plugs look brand new when I pull them out.

FWIW, my dad's 86 T-type daily driver with 20,000 miles so far has had no issues with gapless rings. Also, his stage II car runs gapless which made just over 500rwhp at only 10psi and no problems so far even with the boost much higher now. That one spins 7,500 rpms so I don't think ring flutter will be a problem on a stock block motor either.
