I did a search and didnt find what i needed.

i just put a 400 trans in my car. What do i need to get the speedo to read correctly with the stock 3.42 gears. isnt their a colered gear that i can buy to put into the side of the trans to get it to read properly?

How much will this part cost me?

In order to get it right..

I need the following info:

1) tire size. Diameter mainly or brand and size rear tire
2) rear gear, are you going to keep the 3.42's?

With this info, I can get you right on.
let us know.
either call 916-739-0510 or post back
They should not be that expensive , cheap actually.

ok...

You can use an 11 tooth drive and a 29 tooth driven however finding an orange 11 tooth gear these days is tough.
You can also use a green 10 tooth drive with a 27 tooth driven which is even closer. With the latter you will only be off .021 where is with the 11 tooth set up you will be .50 off
Hope this helps and if you need the gears we got them in stock.

Man, Am I an idiot!!!

I am sorry dude.
I didn't READ your post right. You have a 400. OK that changes all. The post above is for the 2004r. I have no freakin clue as to what I was thinking.
anyway ok 400.

15 tooth drive and a 40 tooth driven will get you close.
But you will need the speedo driven housing to match also.

Man , I still feel so stupid about the above reply. Read Bruce, read...

No problem

Cost for all three pices would be about 25.00. ( Huge investment, LOL)
As for the install, Jack rear of car up in the rear as high as you can get it. Pull speedo housing and extension housing meaning you need to disconnect crossmember to get the housing off to change inner gear. I will describe this to you via phone and walk you through it. First thing is to jack up and pull speedo bullet and see what drive gear is in there now. Tell me what COLOR the gear is and I can go from there. Also tell me what numbers are on the current housing. Note them.
look forward to hearing from you. If you need me after hours call 916-952-9567 (my cell) I am here for you, but remember I am pacific time so if you call before 11 am est My wife will kill you and you will have no more speedo worries....

Let me know.
