I have a DIY system that uses 50/50 water/alcohol and I am putting the car away for the winter. The reservoir is full so what should I do? Leave it in and spray oil thru the system to keep things from rusting or drain it all and blow oil thru the pump? When I had the nozzle off last year to change it I noticed rust and junk around the tip and the end of the hose so who knows what it looks like now. I havn't driven the car in a year.
What is the best thing to do? Thanks

paul

what pump are you using?

as far as the nozzle i wouldnt gamble an engine on a rusting nozzle , i would replace it with something that doesnt rust and also check all the lines and fittings for corrosion that could cause the nozzle to become restricted , probably better to replace them with something more compatible with alky and water

I am using the pump from Northern hydraulics. Can't remember the name but it is the one everyone told me to buy from this forum. The nozzle is an M15. Hope this helps.

well the northern is a shurflo, the last thing you want to do is put anything petroleum based into the pump or it will destroy it so oil is definitely out , theres no metal inside the pump so realy no need for oil

just drain it and the lines

relace those rusty parts with brass fittings or since your a DIY you could use plastic stuff rated for your pressures
