Hey guys,

I just got my 86 GLHS back from the mechanic today. His exact words "Your car is running rich, your timing is off, and nobody here knows how to work on your work." Basically nothing was done to my car. My car is running lean on WOT, causing detonation, and it just doesn't feel like its running as strong as normal. Anyone know where I could take my car? Im thinking I could take it to a mechanic that knows how to work on Turbo Buicks, b/c almost all the upgrade parts are the same on Turbo Dodges. Any help would be awesome!

Sorry Cale......

I got you message and appoligize I forgot to reply back. My friend Kumone will not be the person for you still very new in the business but will probally tell you the same as other mechanics. You can try call Darren at Okuhara's Machine shop (596-0255) and talk to him about you problem, he's pretty good in troubleshooting cars, but not many guy know about turbo cars.

The best thing I would do is get a service manual, Chiltons or Haynes. There is troubleshoot section that sometimes can fix you problems.

Problem could be a bad fuel pressure regulator, oil in the inlet (turbo seal bad?), clog fuel filter, bad fuel pump? Could be just something simple that you can do yourself.

Thanks,

I am definately going to purchase the bible for my car. Hopefully I can find a good mechanic, I don't want to just start replacing parts to find out that it was not the cause of the problem. I'll try calling Darren, thanks man.
