Hmmm. Now that you say that, I believe you're correct. Thanks. Now I just need to figure out what the Turbonetics turbo is that's on my car so I can use the better of the two.

OK, I'll try here first and sign up at the Turbonetics board if no one knows. Here is a shot of the compressor. I couldn't see any numbers on it anywhere without taking the shield off. Any guesses?

It's a Turbonetics Cheetah. I have one. Does it have the .63 or .82 exhaust housing?

I don't know what exhaust housing it has. I'll have to pull the shield and take a look. How would either of those compare to the TA-49 for a mostly stock TR; i.e. stock converter & intercooler, green stripe injectors?

The TA-49 is a great turbo for a near stock combo. & can take your car into the 11's while looking stock. That would be my choice out of the two.

The cheetah would like a little more convertor and injectors. Especially if it has the .82 housing like mine. It's kind of laggy on the bottom, but screams on the top  I would say the Cheetah has more potential, but the TA 49 would better suit your stock setup.

Yeah, I had a TA-49 on my other GN that was stolen but I also had a Comp roller cam and a 10" converter in that car so it had a lot more grunt than my current GN. I too like the stock appearing aspect of the Garrett, especially for my current car so I may swap turbos and see how it compares. Now where the heck is that spare inlet bell?
