I have searched and look for what year the 3" MAF Sensor is being used on Impala SS. Also is there another type of MAF I can use to replace the original MAF type?

What other type of car that has the same original GN MAF I can use beside of course the GN,
and, T-Type?

The 3" "LT1" sensor would be on B-body 94-96 LT1's... not just Impala SS's, but Buick station wagons and Caprice cop cars, too.

As for the original MAF, you are going to want a GN/T-type one of those. It's not something you are going to find in the junkyard in another car.

If it was, they all would have already been found by now, anyway.

I might of though the GN, and the T-Type model were the only ones of having the original MAF. Thanks for the info

What's the advantage of using a bbody MAF?

Just another avenue besides using the original MAF
I don't race my car, but after reading some of the members signature who race their cars claimed Bbody MAF has a better air flow response then the original MAF.

You can knock the Screen out of the LT1 MAF with no real driveability issues (if you blend the screen ridge smooth and use a good cone K&N and it will flow about 100 CFM more than a reman MAF that will break if you look at it funny.

I put the LT1 MAF inside the Factory Airbox for a Factory Stock look and the ability to run easy 11's.

The Factory MAF is a hollow tube and the Translator box is inside the plastic inlet pipe.

This setup has gone 11.53@118 with a TA49 on an internally stock motor, on BFGDR's.

Here is some details in this Thread

Love the concept and originality, I might do this
If I run into any problem do you mind if I reach out to you for any advice?
Thanks

That is very clever, there is a thread in the e85 forum that would probably appreciate your input.

I really like that!! What K&N filter did you use? I just got ANOTHER K&N (my 3rd) and I don't really like how it looks just stuck on the end of the MAF. However, I think the one I have may be too big to do what you have done up there.

Still - it looks really cool - way to think outside of the airbox!!!!
