Since Bowling Green is coming up, and it's a 6 hour drive, I thought I would put in my trunk some spare parts in case of trouble on the road. Plus, with my g/f in the car, I can just hear her mouth now. So anyways, I thought I would give my spare parts list, and ask for suggestions as to what else I should carry with me: (1) Fuel Pressure Regulator
(2) Accumulator Bowl
(3) O2 sensor
(4) TPS sensor
(5) Power Master switch
(6) Cam sensor
(7) MAP sensor
(8) IAC valve
(9) Boost solenoid
(10) ignition module

I'll add a crank sensor to the list when I find my old one. Maybe I'll include a fan belt, too. Anything else that, if it breaks, could cause a no start or bad running condition?

Hey Rick, Just bring it on a flatbed and you won't have to worry about all those parts......seriously you left out coil pack, plugs, wires and a MAF.

But then I would need spare parts for the flat bed! I didn't want to sound too paranoid, that's why I didn't list more stuff. The MAF is a good idea. Just had one die on me last week. Plugs would be good too. Maybe just one plug and one wire- what are the chances of more than one plug and wire failing? I thought about the coil pack, but in my experience, they don't fail all at once. Usually you don't even notice a problem unless you go WOT. My fuel pump was changed recently (Walbro 340) so that's covered.

A whole box full of Snap-On, Matco, Mac, Cornwell and other misc tools. Hopefully, I won't have to use them.:D

Dont forget the tire and jack.:D

Seriously though, I would bring along some antifreeze, some hand cleaner, some towels to clean up with and a set of jumper cables.

what about a good flashlight, the manual to the car, some overalls, gloves, and two of those square rubber mats you can get at murrays. to lie down on if ya get stranded and have to work on the car. also, if youre wanting to call a local tow truck, how ya gonna know where to tell him youre stranded at, if ya dont know where youre at? thats why i bring a strobe light too. i stick it in the back window, and tell him, "look for the strobe". doesnt run the cars battery down either. a map and gps might be nice too if youre travelling.

First aid kit? Blanket? Bottle of water? Extra batteries for electronics gear? And don't forget all of your safety, anti theft items. Column guard, club, multiple kill switches, pit bull, you get the point.

As far as clean up, the people who make the blue shop towels, recently came out with handy wipes that are coated with cleaner. Great product, very little mess and no paste or anything slopping all around. Just think of it as handy wipes for grown ups. Another thing to plan out would be to know where all the gas stations are located on your route, or at least have an idea.
Just a few thoughts.

WOW!! With all that stuff you should have a trail car to help with the work if something does happen. No really it sounds like you got it covered. Maybe a extra chip

How about a spare girlfriend? You might need one once she finds out how much stuff she's going to be carrying in her lap

O-Rings for the fuel regulator / fuel rail, fuel injection hose / transmission line hose and clamps.

I've only had 3 things go bad while traveling in the turbo regal one was a ruptured fuel reg. o-ring and the other was a transmission line that had rubbed on the engine block and developed a leak and lastly was the torque converter bolts came loose. Not to bad for driving about 90,000 miles.

In my other GN I carried a spare ECU, multiple PROM chips, crank sensor, fire extinguisher, Mag Lite, cell phone charger, serpentine belt, jump cables, fuses, hand tools, two GNX fender covers, detailing stuff, etc. Lost it all when the car was ripped off.

I think you forgot the Engine hoist and floor jack but I may have missed those in your parts list. ;)

When I drove the GN from Kansas to Florida, then to California a few months back I took all of the things listed above, plus things like zip ties, crimp connectors, heat shrink, spare wire, fuses, electrical tape, a tire plug kit, small 12v air compressor, oil, ATF, water, etc, etc. Luckily I ended up not needing anything, the car was great. Of course, since I packed so much crap I had to keep air in the airbags to keep the car level... :)

ATM: tool bag, flash light, zip ites, Fire ext (rides up front), fuses, 12v compressor, spare tire/jack, and JB weld ;)

Future crap: Cam sensor, cam tool, crank sensor, igni coil, and igni mod.

Yes, forgot about the JB Weld. Definitely a must have. I also had the above listed items stashed in there somewhere. I had two spare cam sensors since I picked them up for about $40 each new. :)
