Whats the best media player application

I've been using Windows Media player for quite awhile now. I recently set up an old desktop as a file server and put all of my music files on it . . . I guessing it'll hit about 20 gigs before I'm done. So what media player will work best for search times, easy of connecting to the mapped drive, etc. I can use WMP, but I'm betting there is something better I could be using.
