a stage 2 is refering to the motor a stage 2 motor. do a search on it. it is an aftermarket motor

The Buick Stage 2 engine parts are used race engine parts that were produced by buick for Indy and other racing series. They are much stronger and can produce higher performance with better durability that the stock motor.

The following link has links to pictures showing the stock, stage 1, and stage 2 engine blocks where you can see the differences that make the stage 2 block stronger.

As mentioned above, the Stage parts, both Stage 1 and Stage 2, were not installed on cars on the assembly line. They were never qualified to meet emissions, they didn't have the warranty, but they went fast!

Stage 1 could also be the first stage to bankruptcy.....and stage 2 could be the 2nd stage to bankruptcy..... provided you build one...... but hey.... if you have the cubic dollars... go ahead.

Someone said Jack Rousch once said "If you want to make a small fortune in racing...... you better start out with a large one"
