Just thinking about the time I jumper some tracks in my truck. We went about 25-30 feet before we landed. They were those kind of tracks where you get air going 35, you gotta slow down to 5 mph to be smooth. I was doing 75. Knocked the bed into the cab, and dragged the hitch for a few feet on the ground. I managed to rub the front liscense plate bracket, but not the bumper. Full size chevy 1500, ext.cab long bed, btw. It was still fun. It launched a tank of freon so far up it landed in a nearby cornfeild. I don't think I've beat that one yet, but I'm young.:D

Back in the old days of 1976 when we all drove American cars.

We used to play a game of car tag in a perimeter area.

That area of Arlington Mass. had some huge hills with sewer grates that ran across the whole road.

My friends Mom had a 71 Skylark 350. We were being chased
& barrel azzing at about 60mph when we hit the sewer grate.

These grates were angled like a jump to collect water.
We went airborne probably 10 feet long & maybe 1 0r 2 feet high.
The landing was violent& I hit my head up into the rear headliner feeling the roof.

SO THAT is what happened to me :D

best jump i have done was in an 85 TA going across a 4 lane intersection at 85, didnt realize there was going to be a "slight" bump. i know we flew across the opposite two lanes of traffic and came down some point later, we may have even popped up again, lotsa of sparks (it was nighttime), stopped the car and did a quick shake down.....nuthin wrong as we could tell....except the radio/cd player never worked the same after that...

A few years ago I stopped at a buddies[the guy I bought my Stage1 from]house. He had this Subaru field beater,he said get in and lets go for a ride. He hit this hill in his backyard about 55-60,we have pics with the front tires 4 feet off the ground. We had to weld in braces on the shock towers after ther second landing:D to help ease the paine of the hard landings. This was around 8-10 years ago when we were young and dumb:eek: . In highschool we used to jump a Furd Granada on the train tracks on our way home from school. A tool box and books hitting the roof isnt any fun going 70 in a 35:p

Worst one for me was hitting some really tall tracks @80mph, the tracks were about 4 feet tall and I flew for about 80-90 feet in an '85 Olds Calais. Landed nose down and scraped the core support sending spark over the hood. Stopped and walked back and I had the furthest scrape marks from the tracks by at least 30ft (the nice fresh looking ones). For some unknown reason the front struts started leaking and had no resistance after that, can't imagine why?????

Never tried it again!!!

a long time ago about 5 years ago in my bone stock GN i was with some friends and i didn't know this one road very well and i turned onto what i thought was a branch to another road but it was actually a small cliff about 2-3 feet above the ground near it...i was going about 35 mph and then all of a sudden we are floating for about a split second and then WHAM...i checked for damage but couldn't find any...i know damn well i bottomed out...that's probably where my bent axles came from that i recently found out that i had:D :D :D

About 26 PSI with a PT-70 just kidding.

I used to jump my 79 camaro on a side street in my town.
The street had a hill with a drastic drop off.
I don't think I was even that high off the ground, but depending
on the speed you could get a little distance.

Ask Joe Midolo.. We rented a Ford Excursion for the 2002 Nats..

There's a few side streets there that have huge bumps, we had about 6 people in it and got it a few feet off the ground. : Bent up the most rearward seat.

Good time..

That was 8 people in a 3 ton truck at 45 w/both axles in mid air....good time!! LOL

40+ ft in height (over power poles) in a 63 corvair at 130 mph (i hot wired it to go for a spin) 13 years old ....no license

15 Feet Rollover and Walked away

Back in the day, 20 yrs ago, 2 Friends and I were in a F150 Truck with No Cap on the back of it... coming home from a "Drinking Party" - Junior in High School -- friend driving decided to light his cigarette -- he lost control after a very bad fish tail at 55 mph, we ended up, sliding into the ditch with the front of the truck pointing in the opposite direction we were heading. If that wasn't bad enough, then we hit the culvert, which forced the truck into the Air -- Rolling -- when the cab of the truck was pointing down at the ground that is when I was forced out of the back window of the pick-up truck and landed in the ditch "Sitting in the Upright Position", Not one Injury, luck..yeah..., but as I was sitting there pondering at what had just happened, I noticed that the truck still had't come down YET, looking on the other side of the ditch, the truck slammed into the ground, coming down on ALL FOUR TIRES.

However, I did get a fine for under-age drinking or something because I said I wasn't drinking, but I was. Come on, I was drinking and then just rolled a truck. So I was a little dazed and confused.

I was glad to walk away after getting thrown from the vehicle, so the fine was just a piece of paper.

Does a stock full class race truck in the Baja 1000 count? There is a nice section of whoop-de-doos that you can ride the tops of at a certain speed depending on your vehicle. The problen is you never know when there'll be one missing so the next one becomes an 8' high launch ramp. This was during the night time segment, BTW. No issue, though, just figure out which way you're supposed to be going and get back in it.
