Whats the widest 17's I can put on a stock GN?

Im looking to put wide 17s on my GN. Need to know offseting, width and backspacing. I tried a search could not find anything.

I have the 9x17" vette wheels, on the back with 1 3/4" spacers.

Less sidewall deflection, ie better handling, and braking.

IMO, the shorter less rounded sidewalls seem to better fill up the wheel well openings.

I run 17x9.5s in the rear with 4.75" backspacing and nitto 315 drag radials on them. I don't have any rubbing on the inside but i do get a tiny bit on the fender lip that i haven't rolled yet. but i do have stock 119,000 mile shocks on it still so that may be a problem as well Another friend of mine runs a 17x10 with i believe 5" of backspacing with no problems running a 285.

Hey Walt.........where ya been? Pretty common upgrade. I have 17s on my GN and debating (myself) whether to put 18s on my T.

SLP has 17x8 ZR1 Vette/Camaro SS wheels in both hyper black and silver for $699. Backspacing is correct and no spacers are needed. E-mail me and I will send you a pic.

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. I am really looking for a rim with black mesh or black in the middle and crome lip. Hard to find. . Thanks again it will really help when I am searching for my new rim. Now the question is 17 or 18s...hehe. Want to car to look agressive with a all black look.

Kendall Frederick has some really nice Boyd 17" rims. I believe he is running a 17x12 out back with boxed frame rail and GNX reproduction flares. Not sure what is up front.

do you have closeups of your rims?

Front Wheels..17*8, 4.5" backspacing
Rear Wheels..17*9.5, 4.5" backspacing ---> will this look deeper then a 17*9.5, 4.75 backspacing?

Yes, the 4.5" backspacing will look a little deeper, because there is .25" more lip up front, but it's so close you'd never be able to really tell...

Yep, like said above. It will look deeper. I was going to go with 4.75 bs, but Centerline only does backspacing in .5" increments.
