Ok, Well my brother has been experiencing a bogging/bucking type of problem with his GN. We originally replaced coil pack, wires, plugs cuz we thought it was an ignition problem. But now we're leaning more toward it being a fuel problem. He and his friend hooked up the car to a computer and the fuel pressure at idle was 30psi, isn't that low??
He says when he starts to go, the car will bog around 2,000 rpm, only when it's cold..
When it's warm he'll still get an initial bog, but that's about it..
Anyone have any ideas?

FP on a computer????

Firstly, the Buicks don't read FP on a computer hookup. Next, the figure of 30psi is a bit low, IF that's a valid number.
IF the FPR is stock, then it'll read in the 37-38 psi range at idle w/ the vac. line off. Line on should be about 5psi less.[+/- a pound]

As for the rest of the problem w/ the bogging, that could be loss of vac due to cracked hoses, cracked headers, faulty tps ,etc, etc.
I'd suggest doing a complete tuneup, comp. check, etc and then running the car w/ a scan tool and record the readings.

If you hooked it up to a computer I'll assume you're using some kind of a scan tool.

If so....post some of the numbers. BLM's / INT's / etc.

Like Chuck said....if that fuel pressure reading is correct, it's too low. The only way I know to get a fuel pressure reading is to hook a gauge up to the fuel rail at the schrader valve.

The most important thing with the fuel pressure is that it still raises along with your boost.....FP regulator adds 1 psi of fuel for every 1 psi of boost.

The bogging could be a hundred things....some simple....some not.

Good luck,
John
