Wheel spacers

What is the NHRA rule on using wheel spacers? I heard that your are not allowed to run spacers period.

Anybody know about this?

I have been told that they are illegal. I am sure I read it somewhere too. I use them on street tires. Last time I was at the track the tech official did not even notice...
