The wheelwell moldings on my GN are in need of some help. All 4 are chipped near the ends and the original owner screwed mud flaps into them, Any ideas on a fix would be greatly appreciated. This is one of many parts I wish GM would not have discontinued.

I would go to the salvage yard and find some nice ones there. Just get the bright ones and have them powdercoated or sandblasted and painted.

They are used on about every Buick G body since the dawn of time. I got some good chrome parts, cleaned them with a wire brush, then steel wool, then roughed them up with 240 paper (as if the wire brush and steel wool left them smooth...), shot them with a couple of coats of SEM self-etching prime and then SEM trim black.

I don't think a nuclear bombardment will get that paint off now.

Yeah......but that wouldn't be ORIGINAL. People would know. :o My car would depreciate. You might have to remove them at some future date, and paint them all over again. :( We like the original, need to be painted, faded black look! I bet your grille and bezels are painted too.........WHAT A FRAUD!!!
