I will probaly being posting this in the KILL section with a month or so. But since it hasnt happened yet i figure post it here.

My uncle threw a 4th of July party. and towards the end of the night i was about to leave and he (being a little intoxicated) started talking about how hes gonna get the 2012 Challenger SRT8. I say they are nice......"BUT" with some nice rubber i think i could beat his 45k dream of a car. And he starts talking crap and how my cousin (his son) 1500 Ram could beat my car. So i laugh not really caring and im trying to get out of there. When he pulls me in his garage and shows me his ole' 4th GEN Impala with a 307 in it. And says he will race me in this car. Now i'm a little disrespected cause the car is long, heavy and I looked up the engine and it makes anywhere from 120-200 HP stock. He says lets take it down to numidia raceway and run them. I tell him no thats ok i dont want to embaress family in front of a crowd of people. He says no, no we are going. So now I'm hoping he forgets about it. I dont mind racing loud mouth people. But if his car is gonna be 10 car lenghts behind me. I dont want to run the risk of breaking something just to prove a point.

Yeah trying to explain power to weight ratio to people like that is pretty pointless. He'd probably look at you as if you were speaking hebrew.

what year is the Impala? because if it's from the mid 60's and older or 77 and newer, it's probably about the same weight as a GN.. a tpical late 60's-76 one would be about 800 pounds heavier than a GN..

not that it really makes a difference when it's got a stock 307 under the hood..

its 65-69 and i know they arent that much heavier. but you just look at this boat of a car and think are you serious

Have no mercy.......

X2, well, at least until he's out of sight...........;)....Uncle Fester is a foo....

You won't break anything showing what is what and who is who in an 1/8 mile. He should get it by then........

Don't do it for free. If he's serious, put your money were your mouth is. I get a lot crap from my Mustang, Chevy friends. When I pull out a Franklin, it usually shuts them up. Of course, I helped them build their engines!! Phil.

Of course you have to race. However, instead of complete annihilation, I would let him stay with you for a little while. I used to do this to mustangs. Let him think he has a chance, look over, wave and beep the horn bye bye.... Makes it even worse when they know you were just playing. Also make sure someone brings a video camera so you guys can watch the beating over and over again. Yes, I'm an evil SOB...

i may do that, i kinda wanted to see what my car can do with DR's in the 1/4 but i can always run again. i think a nice soft launch to play with him. then about 1/8 point just floor it.

i think money is in order, because i have to get tires and a camera for this shin-dig

This reminds me of a jackass I meet last weekend. I'm at our local cruise and get introduced to some fool that starts telling me, and the group of TR owners, about how he actually drag races his big block car and could easily take care of us. I just had to sit back and laugh. I find it to be more amusing to allow them to keep bragging about there stupid big block drag car.

So, the moral of the story is that if you chose to race this guy, they will only find some excuse to why they lost. Just walk away and assure them that they are correct in thinking there car is faster and better and let them further dig themselfs further and further in a hole. Believe me, it is fun to watch.

Then beat'm senseless at a time of your convienience !!!!!

Daaaayaamn.....!

I have mixed emotions . . . . One part of me says . . . .Don’t race him and start a family feud. You have nothing to prove . . . .
Now if he keeps insisting after weeks/months, open the fire hydrant and cool him down . . . . .

I will never have the HP that Allan G. is putting down  , but it is still fun to watch guys at shows mention/say "I think I can . . . . "
I just agree and say, "yep, your car is faster . . . . . so people should race you, not me" but NEVER clarify . . . . "Faster" when I run 15 lbs boost on radials . . .

Out run him and show no mercy.....you will be doing him a huge favor...really...think about it....WE ALL HAVE BEEN OUTRUN BY A TURBO REGAL.....thats why we own one now and also why we are here on tb.com........
He will have his wtf moment when you take off and it seems like hes tied to a tree...then he will go find his own tr...and he to will thank you...go save him...lol
