I have a friend who 1 1/2 years ago paid for an engine swap in his 96 Regal - 3.1. Guy charged $2000 for the swap which included the replacement engine.
Recently it popped the intake gasket which leaked into the engine causing the dreaded "milkshake".
My friend took the car to a different repair shop who says the engine does not appear to have been swapped earler but it has had the intake gasket repaired.
Now he's fearing he may have been taken for $2000 on a $400 repair.
Is there an ID tag or stamp on the engine block that matches the chassis? If so, where do we look?
