After doing my own research, I welded the bung in at the bottom of the downpipe, right were it makes the bend to go horizontal. I just read the install instructions for an Autometer wideband and it says 5 to 6 inches after the turbo. Mine is probably about 24 - 30" after the turbo. I read that its better to keep it further away so you don't go through wideband sensors as often.

Opinions?

What's your wide band manufacturer's recommendations?

I have my bung on the lower end of my down pipe ( sounds same as your location) & it works just fine . Been running it for many years without issue.
Oh, mine is an AEM Wideband kit that uses a Bosch wide band sensor

Mine is in nearly the same place as yours and been there since I got the car in 2009 . Mine was an AEM wideband with inline controller , now I have a NTK wideband for the Holley ECU and @ $270 each you don't want to be burning them up .

As mentioned above. Depends on WB manufacturer.

I have a PLX & they want theirs mounted around 36” give or take after the turbo. So mine sits in the DP horizontally by by the pass floor pan.
