Do you have two bolt main caps? If so, it's a Stage I. If not, could be Stage II or a Stage I someone else modified. Is it a wet sump with the oil pickup in the stock location? If so, I think it must be Stage I, because I think all of the Stage II's that were wet sump used a pickup closer to the front to give more crank clearance. They all used the same casting number, but got different finish machining depending on Stage I or II or what year it was . They all had the bosses for the extra head bolts but only the Stage II's were drilled and tapped from Buick. However, almost everyone with a Stage I block drills and taps those holes so you can't go by that.
