My stock tranny went out and now I am looking for someone to rebuild the tranny for me. I want it rebuilt to handle mid to low 11's easily...here's my dilema

right now my motor is bone stock...i have a te-44 turbo/50's combo...i am looking to run mid 11's SAFELY on this new trans...my question is do i stick with the stock D5 converter or upgrade to like a 2800 stall? i haven't had any spooling problems with this turbo on my stock converter...maybe one day i may go with a bigger turbo and do some motor upgrades but for now it's the 44 turbo...

i would at least go to a 2800 stall converter. thats what im running and it seems to work pretty good. you might even want to go with a higher stall, im sure more people will chime in on this one.:D

I'd go with the stall for the next turbo you will be buying.

No reason you can't go to 3000 or 3200 should you be thinking of a 60 series turbo soon.

I use a 3000 Vigilante with my stock turbo in the GN, works fine for now.

Putting the PTE51 turbo on it next week I hope.

Drove it 9 months with the stocker, about 5K miles.

No issues.

Guy i would recomend to rebuild your tranny is Vince Janis he is well known for these 2004R trannys. He is located in Ohio, here is his #(330)-753-6609.

Good Luck!!!

Rob

yeah i am gonna upgrade the converter...what the hell...it won't hurt me i guess...just will cost more $$$:D
