If you do any amount of street and highway driving, then the 200 4R wins by a longshot. My car is not a Buick, just an old ElCamino with a 496 big block and a 200 4R. This weekend I did a 100 mile round trip to Westech Performance to spin their chassis dyno rollers where it laid down 514 rwhp. Cruised 75 mph all the way, only 2,500 rpm even with 4.11 differential gears.
The TH400 is one tough transmission that is farm simple to build and modify. Other than that and a lower cost to build a TH400, the 200 4R wins everywhere else.
