More like wood bolts, 1/4 inch wood screws, half inch heads (i think)
GYB or GYI???

the gyb's are black, and gyi's are galvanized and grey...
so which is stronger, i have three going into a TV stand that mounts on a wall. Problem is its being mounted outside into brick. The plan is to drill out large holes for lead anchors, about 1.5 inches deep. The problem I do not want to encounter is when tightening them down, i expect im going to need a large ratchet and i do not want to rip the head off.

OR if anyone has a better suggestion all together please let me know.

TIA

Both types will be of a pretty mild steel and as long as you are fastening wood to brick you wont break them off before crushing the wood or pulling the lead anchors out.

The galvanized pieces arent any stronger just coated for corrosion protection.

Just use a regular 3/8" ratchet the correct socket to tighten them down but do NOT use a "cheater" pipe, breaker bar, or extended handle ratched as that will just crush the wood or pull the anchor out. The only thing Im wondering is why are you putting a tv stand outside

So he can watch TV from the dog house, hahaha. He's a newlywed. You just wait Dave. Lisa will have your ass out on the porch too.

There is no wood involved here, thats why im worried about ripping the head off as it tightens down in lead anchor, basically if i do not make the anchor hole just the right side, i wont be able to get the bolt to go all the way in without some unGodly amount of force. The TV stand is metal....picture a flat piece of metal that has a large hole at a 90* angle from the wall on the top and bottom, then a metal tubes sits in those holds and bends 90* and houses a platform to put the TV on.
My wife and I are smokers, and spend a decent amount of time outside, so we figured why not have a TV out here.....little 13 inch cheapo tv, and i already had an extra cable in the attic not doing anything.

The anchors should come with their own lag bolts. Use those. The package should also tell you exactly what size drill to use. Get a masonary bit that size and drill away.

That's obvious. So he can watch the Outdoor channel. :D

Ben the store i went into just had bins with nuts, bolts, etc in them, so i picked out the anchors first, and the guy told me which screws to use....so i was just going by what he told me....then i found in my tool box a set of the exact same sized screws but different markings/color and was just wondering which ones would be stonger...
i did have the intention of using a torque wrench (longer handle) but i will use a std 3/8th instead....again, my worry is not making the holes big enough and having to wrench down so hard that i break the top of the screw off....otherwise i would have to hope that if the holes end up being too small, that i can pull the screw back out and hope that i can get the anchor out to redrill a slightly bigger hole.

UPDATE

it is mounted...they were half inch anchors, (said so on them) so i used a half inch bit and they slid in perfectly....i tightened them down little by little, like a wheel...didnt have to over torque at all, same pressure all the way down,
SOLID AS A ROCK!!! it held my 200 lb fatass....no prob for a 15 lb TV...
all i have left is to get back up in the attic and finish up the wiring....(ill wait till it cools off)....if anyone wants pics let me know...i think its totally badass.....cant wait to have people come over and go WTF??!?!?

The screw you are reffering to...

is usually called "lag screws" most if not all, are grade 2 steel, they are either, black steel, zinc plated and probably galvanized (the most common one) or hot dipped galvanized, pretty mild stuff, if you ask me. If you are looking for stirdiness, go to your marine hardware store and buy the samething in "Stainless Steel, either alloys available (14-4, 18-8, 304, 316) should be much stronger than the one mentioned above.;)
