whats a good upgraded turbo to go with a stock motor? Any modds I have are in my sig. my turbo is shot and I need to repalce it. I was just gonna have the stock one rebuilt for around $400 but I would like to look for other options if possible? I hear about differant turbo te44, pt45, te49, Turbonetics Cheetah Turbo, and alot of others...any recomendations. I plan to stop modding my car when it get around low 12s before alky. I been reading the recipies but on most of them it doesn't go in depth about turbos., please help me out fellow boosters.

I just got my TE44 on my T and love it!!! Its the best mod so far, and A Friend of mine has one with Alky (My next mod getting the Razor kit :)
He is in the low 11's @ 24lbs of boost!! still tunin it and plans for 26# and maybe the 10's!!!
He has some other mods Like Headers and 3200 stall ported heads ect.

I am looking for mid 11's without headers and porting with alky and the TE44 2800 stall and maybe 24-25# of boost!!

Good luck I love mine my buddy loves his the hit like crazy after 20lbs!!!! :D

got the GT3255 from full throttle with 46.5 lb injectors and matching chip on an otherwise stock engine/trans. This mutha will pull in 2nd and 3rd so strong it scares the crap out of me. Haven't clocked it but conservative estimates are mid 12's with my combo.

The TE-44 is a great, tried and true, street/strip turbo. A lot of folks in the 11's with this turbo.

You can't go wrong with the ta-49.....I think a lot of people started off with that one...including myself

TE44/TA49 are both great turbos. I ran a 44 with great results, very strong and both even work good with the stock stall.

John Craigs TA 61 great turbo spools great with the stock d5 & stock intercooler. add a stretched intercooler, converter, turn up the boost with c116 & you can see a 10 sec. pass also.

A TA-49/TE-44 seems to be what you are looking for if you have the stock convertor like WS6 suggested. If you are going to run alky, i suggest planning ahead and getting a better convertor and maybe going into a 60 series or TE-45. Like Red Regal said, John Craig can help you out with all your needs.
