whining noise in 1st gear?

This only happens at first gear at part throttle. Where could the noise be coming from? IS this normal? it doesn't happen in 2nd,3rd, and 4th. Is my tranny failing?

Cavitation or PR whine. if all else is fine I think your ok....
(now it will probobly fail tommorrow as I have cursed you with my I think its alright)....LOLOLO

Pressure Regulator... and now that I think about it it is roadspeed related or throttle related?

So where is the PR located at? is it inside the valve body?

No, it is in the pump...
