Can any good local turbo shop machine exhaust or compressor housings or do they have to be sent to specialists like Limit or Precision etc?

Porting

Try to do a search in the members section for Steve Monroe, I think his member name is (stevemon). He did some porting work for me, I was impressed with the quality of the work, also he did not charge an arm and a leg for his work. Most of the work he does is on throttlebodys and downpipe elbows, however he told me he can also do turbo housings. Contact him it will be worth it.

A generic turbo rebuild shop will probably not be equipped to machine housings for wheels they weren't intended for. I don't know if Precision is doing work like that for used units either, though they are certainly equipped to do so. They have their own housings cast and have several CNC machines in house.

John Craig will machine your housings, and in my experience, does a beautiful job for a reasonable price.

I'd go with John C. also for a wheel swap and machining! He has years of experience, and good connections in the turbo world. (garrett) I guess more boost is in the future for you. Boost junky!

John at Limit does excellent work as well as Dave at Majestic turbos.

John Craig is a moderator on this board too. He does not get on here that often, but he is a big name in the Buick TR world and is constantly trying new stuff for the Buicks.

I would recommend John for anything turbo related.

Thanks for the replies. I know John is good, I was just thinking of doing it local if possible.
