I put this in the tranny section and got one reply.

Surely more than one person has made the switch!

What sort of gain if any did you see.

11 sec cars and faster please.

Thanks.

hmmmm...normally, when one is making enough power, the switch is to a non-lock from a lock up (all TH-400 converters are non lock)

if the non lock converter is matched to the combo, I would say going to l/u would slow you down.......this ASSumes higher rpm, 10 sec and better cars

I still have the 2004r with a A/C 3500

I would think that a 3500 L/U unit would pick it up a couple of 1/10's? As long as the str raito and stall rpm's were similar:confused:

Precision makes a vig L/U for the 400's now, don't know how well they work.

Thanks for the reply.

well, the l/u's are heavier and less efficient until locked

I have run both the Vig 3600 multi disk l/u and the PTS extreme....with my combo now, a non lock is the next bet (I need 4000 + stall and the l/u are so inefficient at that stall.....)

I was not aware of a l/u converter for the '400...know they have "switch pitch" types......how in the world is the l/u controlled?

I don't see anything on their Web site......if so, how is the lock up controlled......seems like extensive internal mods would be required:rolleyes:
