Will be the best thing you ever did...... T-70 P-trim .82

Mid 10s @ 130 with a 45A is damn good! What track did you do that at?

I run at Napierville, Quebec -Canada. the actual time was 129.59 mph ( my son says it's not the same as 130, but 130 sounds better ). I was over reving on the top end just a bit, with a loose Art Carr 9" non lu. I have since installed a PE vigilant 5 disc 6 pump to drop the rpm's and raise mph. After my recent PTE front mount and 70mm TB/plenum purchase, I decided to look into a bit more turbo, although I'm concerned with street manners. Turbonetics turbos are foreign to me, and I'm not clear as to what wheels they use. I'm also into no flash-----so I'm not wanting to have a polished anything. I'm going to have the Accufab TB bead blasted to remove the shine. Turbonetics turbos are appealing in price, and if they perform equally to the Limit and PTE ( GT ) type turbos, I'm sold. Do they? Jack?

No they are the old technology P-trim wheels why do you think they are being sold for $ 795

To awnser you question I would go with a newer style GT technology turbo from John Craig or PTE those are the turbos putting up the big #'s

The P-trim 66 I have here is a 10 blade wheel. Looks just like the Pro Comp Q-trim on my turbo. Every P-trim I ever saw come from Limit had an 11 blade wheel that looked like "old tech"....

John Craig

I like John Craig turbos myself I have run his stuff for 10 years best of the best... I can get you one if you need it just give me a call at HR...

Even old tech works very well. My "old" p-trim .63 TE45a went 129.59mph.

Still, when buying another turbo, I would like to get into the latest tech. I'm not sold on T-netics being outdated--think I will talk with Jack Monday, and ask some Q's. I will make the best decision based on my conversations with the top suppliers/builders.

Russ, thanks for your input, it has pulled me back toward the T-netics. Brian

Your welcome!

Not sure if you looked, but on page 3 on my Cardomain page, I have a bunch of T-netics pics of the differant turbos. Might find it interesting.

That would be a difficult question to answer......... when we talk raw performance there are way too many variables to take into account. One guy runs a number the next doesn't, so whats the answer...... is it good or bad? Lets look at an example, Gene Fleury from Washington runs 9.90 at 136-137mph with a stock block, daily driven, using a turbonetics 70 P-trim ball bearing turbo... hmmmm old technology or a guy that knows how to put a car together? A few guys run a big number with a GTQ70 or whatever in flat out race cars with Stage 2 money invested in a car that absolutely is not a street car............. does that mean that everyone with a GTQ turbo can do the same...... I won't list the names of the guys that haven't, I'm sure they are scratching their own heads......

I build both street and strip cars, have used most every turbo out there and base my decision what to recommend on my experience, not on "making a sale" like many out there do. I don't "hype" advertize or make misleading statements like "quick spooling turbos" when they aren't. I carefully talk with my customers to get as much info about their combination as I can before making a recommendation based on my experience. I could go on and on here, but just don't have the time, I can sell any turbo I want and do..... I just happen to like Turbonetics because of many reasons, the products they offer, is second to none, the support and warranty, which I have had to use a very few times, is the best in the industry. The way their turbos are built and the process they use is second to none. Whether it's Ball Bearing or non Ball Bearing, they are the leaders. What turbo is used on a combination is only important in that it matches what the customer is looking for in performance and his combination.
Good luck in your decision,

Well put Jack. The fact that we are able to bolt on xtra power via larger turbos, has led many to the miss belief that ----if this turbo runs 10.50's on his GN, than I'll bolt one on mine car, and I should run 10.50's, or real close to it------. What the turbo feeds, matters a heck of alot. The time spent massaging parts, fitting, aligning, fitting again, checking, double checking, ect. ect., when building a engine, pays huge dividends. Talk with you monday. Brian

My new PTE 70 GTQ .85 housing is a monster over my previous PTE 70 P-trim .63 housing. They both spooled up about the same but the GTQ pulls very hard.

Good street performance. Very powerful. I could spool it up pretty good with my (3600-3800) 9.5 Precision non-lockup converter. I also use the 2004R trans. This turbo is design to make alot of power in the 25-30 lb of boost.:D

Check e-mail for more info;)
